The central location of Kiel University of Applied Sciences is in the city of Kiel, the capital of the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein. It is here that five of the six faculties can be found.
The Faculties of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, of Mechanical Engineering, of Media, of Social Work and Health, and finally of Business Managament are situated on the new campus in the suburb of Dietrichsdorf overlooking the Kiel estuary.
The Faculty of Agriculture is to be found not far from the Kiel Canal in the depths of rural Österrönfeld near Rendsburg.
Due to its size and the wide range of subjects it offers, Kiel University of Applied Sciences plays an important role in the State of Schleswig-Holstein. It is the only University of Appled Sciences in the State that can offer its full range of degree courses.

With more than half of all the state’s computer and multimedia companies based in the Kiel region, it is the state’s leading service and educational centre. Several airlines offer direct flights to Hamburg Airport which is located about 100 kilometers from Kiel's city center.
The airport shuttle bus "Kielius" offers a convenient connection from Hamburg Airport to the center of Kiel.
