The city of Espoo is a part of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Although it’s the second biggest city in Finland (right after Helsinki), there is no clear city centre but five regional centres, each size of a medium-sized Finnish city. Therefore the city life doesn’t feel so hectic in Espoo and the nature is near everywhere you go. Headquarters of many international companies are based in Espoo, such as Nokia, Kone and Rovio.
Leppävaara is one of the regional centres in Espoo. The popular shopping center Sello is situated in Leppävaara.
From airport
By bus or taxi. Helsinki Airport is located about 20 kilometres from
Espoo and it takes around half an hour to reach Leppävaara by bus.
Regional bus line 540 operates regularly.
From Helsinki
Leppävaara is only is only 10 kilometres away from the city centre of
Helsinki. The easiest way to travel from Helsinki is by commuter train:
it takes only 12-17 minutes from Helsinki central railway station to
Leppävaara station. Commuter trains that operate between Helsinki and
Leppävaara station are: Y, S, U L, E and A trains. A one-way ticket
costs 4,50 €. The campus is located about 5-minute-walk from the
station.
