Ambient Intelligence and Embedded Systems

Background

This is the official announcement for the "International Symposium on Ambient Intelligence and Embedded Systems 2024".

This year the event will be organized in collaboration with Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Tallinn, Estonia. The workshop series was jointly initiated in 2002 by Vaasa UAS and Kiel UAS. Since then the symposium has been very successfully organized in Vaasa, Kiel, Aveiro, Coimbra, Geel, Heraklion, Madeira, Chania, Espoo (Helsinki), Berlin, Oostende, Antwerp and Sitia.

Purpose

The idea of the international symposium is to share knowledge and experiences in the areas of Ambient Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Systems, Internet Programming and Industrial IT.
It is aimed at researchers and developers from academia and industry as well as experienced students working in those areas of specialization.

 

Topics of Interest

The symposium will cover (but is not limited to) the following topics.

  • Ambient Intelligence (AmI), Embedded Systems, The Internet of Things (IoT), Smart City Technologies, ICT for Smart Cities, Applications of Ambient Intelligence and Embedded Systems
  • Artificial intelligence (AI):
    fundamentals and current/emerging applications and algorithms, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, Data Science, Big Data (BD)
  • Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing:
    Mobile Devices and Computing, Wireless Applications, 5G/6G Connectivity, Sensor Networks (WSNs), RFID/NFC, Wearables, Cyber-Physical Systems/Computing, Mobile/Cyber Security, Blockchain
  • Sensors, Actuators, AI/AmI Devices, robotics and smart manufacturing (e.g. IIoT)
  • Software development:
    programming languages (C++, Java, Python, etc.), Apps (Android, iOS)
  • Teaching and Learning related to AI, AmI, etc.:
    International Project Development, R&D Management and Education, Transnational Education (TNE)

Presentations will be accepted for the conference sessions and for the poster sessions.

 

Types and duration of presentations

  • Paper Presentation: 20 minutes
  • Lecture/Tutorial: 45 minutes

Submission Instructions for Abstracts: The abstracts should be prepared according to the following format: Abstract of about 250 words, MS-Word or PDF format, in English. Poster (preview) prepared in A4 format (210x297mm) as an MS-Word or PDF document.

 

Official Language

The official language of the symposium will be English.
